Question 1

Is Ceremoniz free to use?

Accepted Answer

Yes — creating an event, sending invitations, RSVPs, the gift registry, budget tracker, and everything else on the host dashboard is free.

Question 2

Can I edit my invitation after creating it?

Accepted Answer

Yes, any time. Go to My Events, open the event, and everything — photos, the invitation message, the date and venue — is editable from the manage dashboard.

Question 3

Do guests need an account to RSVP?

Accepted Answer

No. Guests can view the invitation and RSVP with just their name — no sign-up required. Signing in only adds convenience, like remembering their RSVP for next time.

Question 4

What if I have more than one ceremony — haldi, sangeet, wedding?

Accepted Answer

Add each one under Planning → Multiple Functions. Guests are then asked which ones they're attending instead of one blanket yes/no for everything.

Question 5

How does cash gift (Shagun) tracking work?

Accepted Answer

Add your payment details when creating the event — a UPI handle in India, or Venmo/PayPal.me/bank transfer details elsewhere, based on the country you pick. Guests get a scannable QR code or a one-tap button for whichever rail applies, and can optionally log what they sent so you have a running record.

Question 6

Is my guest list private?

Accepted Answer

Yes, by default. You can optionally turn on "Show guest list to guests" from the Guests & RSVPs tab if you want attendees to see who else is coming — it's off unless you turn it on, and even then only shows names.

Question 7

Are my private notes ever visible to guests?

Accepted Answer

No. "Host Notes" on the Planning tab is only ever visible to you — it never appears anywhere on the guest-facing invitation page.

Question 8

Can I share things like dress code or parking that every guest should see?

Accepted Answer

Yes — the "Good to Know" section on the Overview tab is free-text and always visible right on the invitation page, near the venue details. Use it for dress code, parking, kids policy, or anything else you'd rather every guest just see than ask you individually.

Question 9

Can I ask guests my own questions beyond the standard RSVP?

Accepted Answer

Yes — add up to 5 custom questions under Planning → Custom RSVP Questions (song requests, plus-one names, anything you want to know). They're only shown to, and answered by, guests who confirm they're attending, and their answers show up in RSVP Analytics and the CSV export.

Question 10

How do I know if more people are coming than my venue can hold?

Accepted Answer

If you gave an estimated guest count when creating the event, RSVP Analytics shows confirmed attendance against it, with a heads-up banner once you go over — a nudge worth acting on, not a hard limit, since RSVPs never get blocked for guests.

Question 11

Where do I start with a wedding/event checklist?

Accepted Answer

The Planning Checklist suggests tasks with due dates already worked out from your event's date, tailored to what you're planning — a wedding gets vendor-booking tasks with real lead time, a birthday gets a shorter list. Tap any suggestion to add it, or just type your own.

Question 12

Can I see every timeline item if my celebration runs across several days?

Accepted Answer

Yes — give a timeline item its own date on the Planning tab, and once your schedule spans more than one day, both you and your guests see it grouped and labeled by day instead of one flat, unlabeled list.

Question 13

Do I need to make an account to RSVP?

Accepted Answer

No — just open the invitation link and fill in your name and headcount. An account is only useful if you want your RSVP remembered for next time.

Question 14

How do I add the event to my calendar?

Accepted Answer

Tap "Add to Calendar" on the invitation page — it works with Google Calendar or downloads a file that opens in Apple Calendar, Outlook, or any other calendar app.

Question 15

What if I can't make it, or I'm not sure yet?

Accepted Answer

RSVP with "Not sure yet" or "Can't make it" — either skips straight to an optional note for the host instead of asking for a guest count or dietary details that wouldn't apply. You can always come back and update your response later.

Question 16

Can I upload my own photos from the event?

Accepted Answer

Yes — the Memory Vault on the invitation page lets any guest add their own photos after the event, all in one shared place for the host. Tap any photo to see it full-size and browse through all of them, not just the ones shown up front.

Question 17

Can I leave a spoken message instead of typing one?

Accepted Answer

Yes — next to Leave a Message on the invitation page, tap Record Audio to leave a short voice note instead of (or alongside) typing. It plays right there for the host and every other guest, same as a written message.

Question 18

How do I send a cash gift (Shagun in India)?

Accepted Answer

If the host has added their payment details, you'll see a section with a scannable QR code or a button that opens their payment app (a UPI app in India, or Venmo/PayPal.me elsewhere) directly to the right amount — or bank transfer details if that's what they use instead.

Question 19

Will I get reminded before the celebration?

Accepted Answer

If you've allowed notifications, you'll get a gentle reminder the day before — no extra step needed. If you left an email when you RSVPed, you may also get a reminder there.

Question 20

How do I list my business?

Accepted Answer

Tap "List Your Business" from the menu, or go to /vendor/login and sign up as a vendor — you'll fill in your business name, category, and city right away.

Question 21

Is it free to list?

Accepted Answer

Yes, listing is free — there's no subscription or commission on bookings made through inquiries.

Question 22

What does "Verified" mean?

Accepted Answer

Every new listing is reviewed before it appears in the public directory. Once approved, it shows a verified badge so hosts know it's a real, reviewed business.

Question 23

Can hosts see my contact info before I've replied to them?

Accepted Answer

Hosts message you through an in-app inquiry — your phone number and other account details are never shown to a host until you choose to share them in your reply, or they use the WhatsApp/call buttons you've explicitly listed on your profile.

Question 24

Can I keep track of which leads I've quoted or booked?

Accepted Answer

Yes — every inquiry has a status (New, Contacted, Quoted, Booked, Declined) you set from the inquiry thread. Your dashboard shows a live pipeline summary so you always know where each lead stands.

Question 25

Can I mark myself unavailable for dates I'm already booked?

Accepted Answer

Yes — add blocked dates from your dashboard's Availability section. A host inquiring about a date you've blocked sees a heads-up before reaching out — it's a courtesy notice, not a hard block, so they can still message you.

Question 26

How do I earn a "Top Rated" badge?

Accepted Answer

It's automatic, not something you request — once you have at least 5 reviews averaging 4.5 stars or higher, and you're typically replying to inquiries within a day, the badge appears on your listing on its own.
